Catering and Hospitality Training Programme:
 

African and Caribbean food sector have not enjoyed the prominence and profile as predicted about ‘West Indian and Afro Caribbean Foods’ (Key Note Publications 1990). Lack of investments in resources and opportunities have led to declining visibility of the range of diverse and versatile dishes, with “emphasis on fruit, vegetable, and high fibre…” (again quoting Key Note).

Activities can include:

- The Cookhouse Club for primary school age
- Catering Corps for young people
- Food & Wellbeing Forum in a family setting

Where we do it


Common success factors in all FACET activities include: targeting (ages 5 to 18) and customisation of content in the UK, endeavouring to tackle black underachievement at a number of levels including practice, institutional level, policy level and so on. Extention of these activities are planned for Europe, Africa, South America and the Caribbean Island.
